Hindi faces hostility!

An act more defaming than this can hardly be imagined. The Maharashtra Assembly seems to have become a hub for goons to reign. It’s not everyday that you get to see members of the MNS adopting such violent measures.

The assault on Abu Azmi in the Assembly bestows both shock and shame to the political scenario of our country. The reason? Taking his oath in Hindi. This onslaught is in fact not only on our national language but on other more deep rooted values as well. It’s an attack on our patriotism, discipline and our integrity as a whole.

Does someone who opposes Hindi-the national language can be called a citizen of the nation? An Indian at all? I doubt. Reports say that this is all in response to MNS President Raj Thackeray’s letter to the party members asking them to take their oath only in Marathi and not any other language.

Isn’t this amalgamation of biased feelings and radical ideologies hampering the country’s “Unity in diversity” theme? And to top it all an interview of Mr.Thackeray shows him saying that whoever tries to insult the Marathi language, his MNS members are going to handle them.

Shamelessness to its ultimate degree. The MNS stands for Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. One can hardly see what “nirman” they have brought about instead of displaying hooliganism and destruction.

Yes, action ha been taken in the form of four MNS legislators being suspended for four years. However getting to the root of the problem is still a stiff and upheaval task. A great disappointment it will be if no litigation is enforced against the likes of slanted leaders like Raj Thackeray who go to the point of insulting the nation to accomodate their angled beliefs.

Why is it not being brought to notice that it was Abu Azmi who showed his footwear first. Then was he assaulted by MNS.All news show violence of MNS only, however Abu Azmi started it off.

Yeah Prasad, that is what most people are saying in Maharashtra. BUt, he only showed his footwear, he didn’t go on to hit anyone. One MNS MLA removed the mike from the podium and others started the ruckus.

Both sides are wrong (the MNS side being more wrong), but Azmi is not given any punishment at all.

Whatever happened in the state assembly cannot be justified by any argument. The argument that "if you are elected in Maharastra you should take a oath in Marathi" is rubbish. But I wonder how a non-marathi speaking guy was elected in the first place. However, a group who does not have the decency of maintainig the sanctity of assembly doesn't deserve a say in any matter whatsoever. The right way was to get a bill passed in the assembly regarding this. But we never expect this from our politicians. But the most disturbing thing is how people here are divided into pro-hindi and pro-marathi. Please, this is the last thing we need in India; another way to divide people.

India is a country of extreme diversity which is posing a threat to its unity. These marathis are living example of this fact. Let us crush marathism with iron hand.

Yeah. What are your comments on Tamilism?

Maharashtra is a way more cosmopolitan state than Tamil Nadu and any person from North or South would opt to come to Maharashtra rather than going to South or North respectively.

We have nothing against Marathism Nitesh.
But bias and partiality by anyone which starts getting on the nerves of the nation is unacceptable.
