Thackeray takes on Tendulkar

He may be called the little master, but his statements are not little by any means. He has got an eye beyond the cricket field.

Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar’s statement that he was proud of being a Maharashtrian, but he is an Indian first; seems to have come as a shocker (or rather a bouncer) to Mr. Bal Thackeray.
This can be justified by his quirky statement - “by taking this cheeky single, Sachin had got run out on the pitch of Marathi psyche”, is a clear indication of that.

At his age where he ought to be utilizing his political experience to lead his state and country towards globalization and development, the Shiv Sena chief is just squandering it to do vice versa by his extremist views. Views which are resulting in the confinement of people and hence evading progress.

Yes its absolutely not wrong to love ones birthplace, but to spread the fumes of disharmony in its shadow is a crime. And Mr.Thackeray with all his years of wisdom seems to overlook this fact and is busy sowing the seeds of hatred.

The Thackeray followers are leaving their radical imprints everywhere. The recent attack on Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwari’s residence who according to the news had said something against the Shiv Sena and Bal Thackeray is an illustration.

On that grounds, the danger of a “gherao” by Shiv Sena members lurks on my head too for this anti-Marathi article I guess !

Lets hope that focus shifts as soon as possible from the “Marathi issue” to the “Indian issue” so that our nationality remains intact without the integrity getting hampered.

By the way, I would like to congratulate Sachin on his completing two decades in cricket, which Mr. Thackeray most probably forgot to do !

I think what Sachin said was very true and absolutely correct. He is an Indian. In fact according to me he has acquired a higher status and respect by his remarks of being an Indian first which all of us should be proud of as we all are Indians first and then marathi, Telugu, Tamil or Bihari . He has represented India at the highest level for last 2 decades and has brought so many laurels for our country. He is a true Indian by heart who loves representing and playing for India at any level and winning the matches for India is his only goal. He is pride of India and every Indian from Kashmir to kanyakumari, from Gujarat to Assam is proud of his achievements.

Instead of advising Sachin to concentrate on Cricket (which he has done for 20 long years with success), Baal should himself concentrate on his party and motive (which is gonna die soon).

Bal Thackeray has no comparison with Sachin and stands no where in front of the cricket legend.

Bala is just another famous goon of a particular state, active in politics like many others, with certain fan following (in few thousands, rest are all paid to vote for him).

Sachin is a Global HERO. He has made his mark at the international level and made India proud.

Bala’s comment for Sachin is foolish similar to a cat commenting on a lion.

In trying to be politically one up on his nephew, the aging leader, nearly thrice the age of Sachin, has shown that he does not have one half the maturity of Sachin. Time, he retires to the Himalayas for the benefit of the rest of Indians. The total silence of his nephew shows his hypocrisy. It is high time both were booked under Indian Security Act irrespective of the consequences. The country has had enough of their nonsensical views.
